Thanks Peter. I've always been intrigued by "Advanced Destroyer Simulator".

Impressions of the April 2025 hd image with 2664 games:

Outstanding Preservation Effort!
This game compilation is a remarkable achievement in preserving lesser-known European software, particularly commercial edutainment titles. The collection includes high-quality scans and manuals, making it a true treasure trove for enthusiasts.

Below are some highlights and observations from my experience with the collection:
•  Dark Fortress: A stellar Lode Runner clone with tight gameplay and great design.
•  Infocom Titles: Support for standard save games works flawlessly, ensuring a smooth experience.
•  Hunchy 1066: An excellent Hunchback clone that captures the spirit of the original.
•  Cybercon III: A fascinating 3D game that runs impressively fast on 16MHz systems. However, I found it challenging to dive into without reading the manual—thankfully, Petari's preservation efforts include these essential documents!
•  Diosa de Cozumel and Templos Sagrados: Two visually striking Spanish text adventures, likely built on the same engine, offering rich storytelling.
•  Miracle Boy in Dragonland: A fantastic reimagining of Wonder Boy in Monsterland. Highly recommended for all players!
•  Missile Alert: A solid Missile Command clone with engaging gameplay.
•  Pepe's Garden: Features a hilarious cover art Easter egg—possibly created by Petari using AI? A delightful touch!
•  Ooze: Unfortunately, it doesn't launch in low resolution, making text difficult to read. It also seems to lack images in medium resolution. Attempting to launch from TOS set to low res didn't help, as the game still defaults to medium res.
•  Project Prometheus: A German text adventure with manual-based copy protection on the second screen. Entering an incorrect answer causes a freeze, which could be frustrating.
•  Silicon Dreams: Similar to Ooze, launching from TOS in low res still results in medium res. Low resolution may not be supported, so a monitor with higher TV lines might be necessary for the best experience.
•  Magnetic Scrolls Collection: The games using the new interpreter feel overpowered for Amiga and ST, leading to a less optimal experience. In contrast, titles published with the older interpreter run much smoother on ST, offering a noticeably better experience.
•  Jason et la Toison d'Or: A well-crafted French text adventure that stands out for its quality.
•  King's Quest VI Demake: An absolutely incredible effort! The dedication to recreating this classic is awe-inspiring. It would be amazing to see a King's Quest IV demake in the Sierra AGI engine.

These are simply observations, not criticisms—this collection is a labor of love and a fantastic contribution to preserving gaming history. Kudos to the team, especially Petari, for their meticulous work!

Thanx dakidski.  Yes, there are now many educational games, and most of it is French origin, in French lang. Some have Engl. versions, some are with more languages, selectable . Graphic is usually top quality.

I had Ai spell correct my comment before I posted it (I took notes on my phone while playing), so it ended up sounding a bit over the top. :) I was playing on an 8-10" color TV, so I couldn't read any fonts tbh.

Another thing, have I ever shared with you my archive of John Wilson of Zenobi Software? It is gone from the internet now, but It has tons of rare and very little known ST titles.

More random feedback and suggestions:

•  Game menu is incompatible with EmuTOS 1.4.

•  Add 50/60Hz toggle in game menu or game launch menu (where trainer, 8MHz/16MHz is selected).

•  Include screen resolution toggle (low/medium/high) in game menu.

•  Add a visual reminder to press 'M' for MHz selection on the game launch screen.

•  Include more roguelikes: Moria, NetHack, Larn, Angband, and AtariCrypt's RogueCrypt.

•  Add Black Sect to the collection.

•  Enable full keyboard control (arrow keys) for the menu, bypassing joystick input, as keyboard is required to press space after game selection. Joystick control is less relevant for Atari ST users. Let the Amiga Gamerz stick to their joysticks! ;)
