Title: Lethal XS
Post by: Official Ninja on 03-02-2013, 04:50:24
Your Lethal XS patch won't run on my STe, In the launcher when I hit a key to start the game it just quits to desktop and everything is blue. (Maybe because I have a blue background)

I know it ran with no troubles on my Mega STe.

That's strange. If goes on MSTE, should go on STE too. Do you use same hard disk (SD card) on both machines ?

I see that you have STE and MSTE. It would be nice to do something for community - look thread little below 'Little help please' .
We need informations from multiple users to see exactly about timing (wakeup) issues on STE machines - you need only some 10 minutes to perform those simple tests. Results will be used not only in movie playback, but in emulators too.

If you will have still problems with Lethal Xcess, I will do Haga version ..

No, the cards are different. Both boot the same HDDriver and are configured that same.
I like to use moulinaie's Color STE desktop.

I don't load anything else on either machines so the difference is the STe uses his newer version that plays startup music.
The MSTe uses the older version found at his website.
I guess the STe version must use a little bit more memory and that causes the issue.
I found since posting I can't run must of your older patches on the STe, they exit back to desktop the same as Lethal XS.
Thanks!

Just a follow up on this. I disabled everything, even any control panel apps, so all that is loading is HDDriver.
Even that is set to minimal memory and still the game launcher just exits to desktop when I press L for unlimited lives.

As is told, it is RAM usage related problem - my older adapts. don't like too much RAM occupied.
Of course, there is already solution for easy swap between different configs - like for working and for gaming.

It works with your driver, but not with hddriver. This is what I have since found out.

It is because mem. usage too.

Anyway, here is HAGA version:   http://atari.8bitchip.info/LETHALHA.ZIP

I did not test much, so please some feedback. On STE, MSTE should be OK with statesaves too.

Haven't had much time to play Atari lately...
I did play a few levels on my STe with no issue.
Thanks.

Played until end - 5 levels, bosses, and then something 'unusual' : congrats for saving World  :)
Not original, but well made.

Hello. I have my Mega STe setup now. I found a bug that is not a big deal but though I would mention it.
The game starts fine on the Mega STe but if I hit M in launcher to set 16Mhz it never starts after the box cover image is displayed.
No problem really, I just wont do that. :) Thought I would mention that option doesnt work though.
