Title: Compatible chips for Atari flash-software and Flashable TOS4x
Post by: Arthur on 04-07-2011, 19:45:35
Hallo Peter,

can we use this chips from ST with your flash-programmer software?
The chips are not from ATMEL or AMD. Thx.

Edit: are they fast enough?

That chips should work well as ROMs, because reading is usually standard. But for programming need to write proper code for those chips/brand. There are some differences in writing protocol among manufacturers, so must having code for each. How urgent is this ?

We would make a small batch on forum.atari-home.de in the next one or two month. We will maby build a modified (smaller) layout so we can use the flashtos4x circuit under adverse conditions for the most Atari ST. Lynxman said he has some chips in his portfolio. I hope he has enough.  ;)

Well, as I see here , AMD Flash chips are cheapest . 4Mbit ones cost under 2 Euros/piece .
It would help me if you could send me 2 pieces of ST Flash EPROM chips - if postage is not more than price of chips self. Then I can make SW for on circuit programming.
