Hey all :)
for some time, I'm a proud owner of an ATARI 1040 Ste with 2MB RAM. I refurbished it from bad condition to now working, along with a joystick I made to work as well:) It took quite some work and indeed money. I had an ATARI 1040STFM back then and had a lot of fun with it, so the work was worth it.

So, my next step was to get an HD Emulator, about which I simply didn't have had any idea. I've been out of the ATARI game since 1994, and as I see, a lot has been built and invented. I chose an ACSI2STM, this one specifically:
https://www.ebay.de/itm/236988988036

It's very well made, but since I had no idea as much as I invested time researching (quite confused), after plugging it in, nothing in particular worked except a few folders were shown. Then I pulled an image of the supplied SD card and used Hatari to investigate—it showed the same until I used EmuTOS and everything was displayed correctly (many games in folders). However, almost no game works due to lower memory usage with emuTOS.
The eBay seller said it needs P. Putnik driver to work properly. So, my question is, if I purchase the driver (if I'm correct, there are a few different ones, which to take?):
How do I install the driver on the card while keeping all the data/games that were supplied with the ACSI2STM? I have TOS Version 1.62.

Thanks a lot

Hi and welcome to 8bitchip forum.
With newer ACSI2STM adapters is important to shortcut jumper named Strict . Usually there are no wires there, just little holes and leads to them on PCB, so need to solder there short wire between them. Then it will be compatible with drivers done to work under Atari TOS concept .
On this page are explanations and description what can order: PP driver
And further communications about ordering please in e-mail.
You can order regular driver or version with Virtual Floppy feature. And it is not only driver but program for partitioning SD card too (called often formatting SW). So, you can have max 14 partitions of max size 512 MB , What is 7 GB totally, and now will hardly find SD card under 8 GB capacity. Rather 16 now, but prices are really low.
And no need to install driver on card what you got. It will work fine when you do that Strict short cutting.
About 'pulling image' : how you made it, and what settings you used in Hatari ? And what Hatari version ?
And considering games, you can have 2900 now on single SD card. Game compil.
You have good machine, TOS 1.62 is little updated TOS 1.06, and last original TOS v. for STE . 2 MB RAM is enough for gaming, and is not hard to expand to 4 (there are slots for it in machine). Can even watch some videos with it.
